A buckle in the jet stream will open the door for air straight from the arctic circle to come pouring into the Great Lakes. In fact, the air overhead next weekend will be coming directly from Siberia.
While there are chances for light snow accumulations Monday, Tuesday and into Wednesday. There are no major systems expected before this cold air arrives. That will limit just how cold it will get. If we had several inches of snow on the ground, plus this extremely cold air mass, lows would likely drop WELL below zero.
It remains to be seen just how long this cold air will last but there are signs of some warmer days ahead as we get closer to March.
